American painter and etcher Syd J.Browne was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1907. He attended the Art Students Leaguewhere he studied with Eric Pape and Dumond. He was a member of the Society ofAmerican Etchers in Brooklyn, the American Watercolor Society, the SouthernPrintmakers, the Salmagundi Club, the Philadelphia Watercolor Club and the NewYork Watercolor Club. Brownes works were exhibited at the Paris Exposition in1937, the Worlds Fair in New York in 1939 and the Art Institute of Chicago in1939. Also active in Winter Haven,Maine.
